Our story
Frida Oaxacan Cuisine brings fresh and flavorful dishes from the State of Oaxaca to Nashville. From mole, tamales, memelas, quesillo, tlayudas, to chapulines! We are a family-owned and operated restaurant in Nashville. We started the business in 2020, right in the middle of the pandemic, through the last couple of years we have struggled but have slowly grown as life gets back to normal. We continue to thrive here in Nashville and are getting ready to expand to a more prominent location. We are currently operating inside the Bee Icecream Shop, but will soon have a place to call our own. We are proud to serve the community in Nashville and will continue to enrich people’s lives through our culinary heritage and culture.
Our ingredients
At Frida's, we make sure to use fresh and authentic ingredients, which is why you will find quesillo, tlayudas, chapulines, and other traditional ingredients imported from the state of Oaxaca. Our traditional recipes come from passed down generations. When you visit Frida’s Oaxacan Cuisine you will be delighted by the delicious and unique flavors we have to offer. Oaxaca is nicknamed “the land of seven moles” as each of the state's seven regions produces its own variation of the spicy mole sauce. Mole is one of the best-known dishes that the state of Oaxaca is known for and we bring it here to Nashville for you to enjoy.
